Knoxville is nestled on the Tennessee River about an hour from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Once called the "scruffy little city", the downtown has undergone a rapid renaissance as people move into the lofts and apartments created from the factories and warehouses of another era. On any evening of the week, residents and visitors can be seen at the sidewalk cafes, theaters, restaurants and night clubs along Gay Street and Market Square.
Outdoor activities are made easy with the many parks in the Knoxville area. Residents can enjoy golfing, boating, going for a run or a bike ride on the greenway, enjoying a day in one of the many parks, as well as taking your dog to one of the many dog parks in the area. There is something for the entire family to enjoy.
For the sports enthusiast, you will be able to enjoy anything from Tennessee Volunteer football in the fall to Ice Bears hockey in the winter. The sports fan will be entertained year round!
